MIDWIFERY LOGO

midwiferylogo

DMSF College of Midwifery Logo symbolizes the ideals and aspirations of the College. The sketch of a mother and child depicts a woman who lovingly cares for her child.  The sketch was purposely in blue as it represents purity and was often a color of royalty.  The College of Midwifery of the DMSF is pure and sincere in its intention to mould every individual midwifery student to be advocates of the wellness model of holistic care imbued of becoming competent, caring, analytical and reflective midwife practitioner who applies a systematic, evidence-based approach to responding creatively and sensitively to the needs of pregnant women and their families.

In addition, the Madonna and Child is one of the central icons of Christianity and is used to describe a work of art. Midwifery is an art of service in the delivery of care and assisting mothers during the delivery of the baby.
