The campus came together in February for the first in-person Student Clubs and Organizations Day since 2020. Students enjoyed festive booths and activities from six DMSFI clubs, strengthening bonds across the community.
March witnessed a spectacular graduation celebration for the 20th class of International Medical Doctors, ready to impact communities near and far. Additionally, Dr. Psylah Trisha Alonsagay Caminos earned 6th place among all examinees on the March Physician Licensure Exam, demonstrating exceptional dedication.
Reaching out to underserved areas in April, a group of physicians, nurses, dentists, and students provided care during a medical mission in Balite, Marilog. Partnerships were also expanded with Madonna University in Nigeria and PELKESI in Indonesia to increase global connections. Capping the productive month, DMSFI achieved a 100% passing rate for first-time takers on the Midwifery Licensure Exam.
In May, the Dentistry Licensure Exam saw a 100% success rate for all candidates, reflecting the commitment to excellence of these new dental professionals. The DMSFI Hospital was also named an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Stroke Society of the Philippines.
July featured commencement celebrations conferring degrees upon graduates of programs including medicine, dentistry, nursing, midwifery, and biology. August marked the 47th Foundation Day held at the Ulas Property. The month closed with a medical mission providing care in Upper Kibalang, Marilog. DMSFI showed a remarkable increase in 1st-year students across the different colleges, overstating the efforts put forth by the Deans together with their dedicated faculty and staff.
Additional outreach occurred in September when the Obstetrics-Gynecology Department led an effort focused on expectant mothers’ wellness in Marilog. October opened with the 2023 Intramurals, fostering friendly competition. Nursing students took clinical oaths, and Japanese dignitaries visited the hospital and leadership offices. Congratulations to Dr. Sharon Jenny Te for her top 10 finish in the Physician Licensure Exam.
In November, the exceptional College of Midwifery achieved 100% passing on the Licensure Exam, while Nursing reached 84.85% passing. December highlights included the inaugural lighting of the Christmas Tree of Hope and the unveiling of design plans for developing the Ulas Campus. Through dedication across this institution, DMSFI continues working to transform lives in and around Davao.
